Networking

I teach the Beginning Networking and Advanced Networking courses for TechFutures, as well as manage the TechFutures networks as the Network Administrator. I joined TechFutures in November of 2003 with the goal of preparing students to enter the workforce with a strong systems administration and network administration skill set. My students learn networks from bottom to top, in other words from PC to router. Students get hands on experience with marketable technologies such as A+ Certification, Windows 2000 Networks, and Cisco switches and routers.

Born in Maryland and having moved all over the country, I have settled in the Bay Area. I graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in History. After which I taught History at Antioch High School in Antioch, CA for 2 years. I became very interested in technology while I was teaching, and began my technical education at Heald College in Concord, where I attained an MCSE in Windows 2000 and a CCNA in Cisco networking. I then began working for Bank of the West as a Systems Administrator. Several years later, the opportunity at TechFutures came along, and I saw a chance to combine my teaching experience with the world of Information Technology. I really enjoy watching my students achieve technical aptitude and even have a chance to hire a few of them to work for TechFutures as Jr. Systems Administrators or Desktop Technicians.

In my free time I enjoy all sorts of sports (Basketball, running, surfing, snowboarding, cycling, swimming, running, etc.) and spending time with my girlfriend and our pets Roxy, Audi, and Terra. Roxy (our Pug) even gets to hang out at TechFutures once in a while!
