Carla Lundstrom
Controller
I am the Controller for TechFutures and it is my pleasure to be part of an organization so vibrant and significant. Each time that I come into the Lab to bury myself in numbers, I end up being a witness to a whole other side of life - that of young, eager adults going the extra mile to enhance their skills, their educations and their futures.
I have been an accountant for over 17 years. I started my career at Price Waterhouse in Oakland and eventually settled into a local public firm in Walnut Creek. I later went on to be the controller, first for a national real estate company and later for an internet consultancy start-up. I have been at TechFutures since September 2002.
I have long been interested in the plight of our young people, and worked for many years as a volunteer in my community public schools. I understand that teen-agers today have exceedingly different challenges they face as they try to make their way through the high school years and eventually enter the world of upper education and the workforce. TechFutures helps to make those challenges manageable, even exciting. Not only is TechFutures a place to learn and grow technically, it is a place for students to build confidence, camaraderie and esteem. Every school should have a TechFutures!
