Database Developer Level II , Teaching Assistant

I am originally from the country of Nicaragua, Central America, and came to this country in the year 2000. I graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and TechFutures in the summer of 2004. When I arrived to this program I had minimal knowledge in IT, social and communication skills, but with the help of teachers and staff, my skills developed in ways I didn't know were possible. Engaged to pursue the programming field, I resolved to take the Advanced Database class.

Throughout the program my skills enhanced greatly and I was hired in the summer of 2003 to work as a level I web designer and level I web programmer in several TechFutures' internal projects. In the fall of 2003 I started working as a teaching assistant for the beginning classes at John F. Kennedy and El Cerrito.

On the summer after I graduated I applied and was accepted as an intern at Intel Corporation at Folsom and later in the Hayward Intel Clubhouse. I'm currently in my first year at Contra Costa Community College and plan to transfer to a four-year University. My major still is undecided because I feel the need to keep exploring different possible careers involved with IT.

I'm currently working for TechFutures as a teaching assistant for the Database classes, beginning and advance, and as a level II web programmer. In my free time I like to go out with my friends and have "FUN". I believe that they have always shaped and will keep shaping my life.
