Students/Alumni Speak Out
What they say
"I definitely recommend TechFutures to other students. I personally have benefited a lot from the TechFutures. I would never have gotten any of the jobs or internships without TechFutures. Consequently, I would not have even been able to pay my way through college." - Kit San Chung, ECHS Class of 2002
"As I worked on more projects and was exposed to different project requirements I learned a great deal about programming, databases, and communicating effectively with project managers and clients… TechFutures gave me more than technical skills, it had molded me into a more outgoing and confident person: confident about my ability to do my job, about my skills, and about myself… TechFutures gave me career aspirations that I am now on my way to fulfilling. I don't know where or what I would have been doing without it… I not only learned technical skills at TechFutures, I learned life skills and am a better person for it." - Gregory John Fiddes, ECHS Class of 2003
"I started at TechFutures as a Web Designer/Developer Level 1. Now I am at the highest position possible in our Web department as a Junior Project Manager Level 2. I am responsible for managing our program's Website. I am responsible for assigning work to students interested in working for the program. I hand them tasks to be completed by certain dates and expect only the best from them. I make sure the work they do is quality and done correctly. I keep a spreadsheet of every student's progress and as a part of my training I am responsible for sending my supervisor weekly reports regarding the progress of each project… If I hadn't been exposed to the ideas and possibilities of combining computers and art, I would have never gotten out of my shell." - Lizette Sanchez, ECHS Class of 2003
